Challenge:

As part of their five-year strategic plan, UB looked to overhaul their site, an enormous undertaking requiring a long-term collaborative effort. Comprised of multiple schools and over 7,000 pages, the site demanded a design with far more differentiation and far less standardization, while at the same time maintaining a broader consistency to leverage the UB brand.

Solution:

We combined strategic navigation, innovative real estate allocation, and backdrops that represent both the individual schools as well as the overall spirit of UB. By incorporating a reverse social media toolbar and an on-page drop down search function, we merged functionality with messaging while allowing the conversation to happen on the page instead of offsite. A mobile companion website was also created, but idfive and UB are currently working on a responsive version of all the UB websites.
