Each year, Artscape, the nation’s largest free arts festival, takes place in the historic Mt. Vernon and Station North Arts Districts of Baltimore—and the backyard of the University of Baltimore. And each year UB looks for compelling ways to celebrate the festival and its mission through creative installations that highlight the school and the cultural spirit of the city.
UB worked with idfive to concept and create an art installation that took advantage of one of the school’s most recognizable buildings (and its central placement in the heart of the festivities). We created a five-story doodle on the glass façade of the Student Center that playfully captures the school’s unique message, Knowledge That Works, in illustration. Drawn by hand and digitally scaled to thousands of times its original size, the installation was an instant conversation piece on social media and amongst festival goers.
