BPD 30 for 30

The Baltimore Police Department sought to increase the number of women serving in the force, improve public perception of women in policing, and strengthen retention by highlighting the support systems and career opportunities available to female officers. At the same time, the department wanted to deepen community engagement and reinforce a brand identity that reflects inclusivity and the important role women play in public safety across Baltimore’s diverse neighborhoods.

Through interviews with women currently serving, their stories did the work of highlighting empowerment, career pathways, mentorship, family-friendly benefits, and community engagement. The series showcased women across roles–from forensics to leadership–demonstrating how female officers strengthen both the department and the communities they serve while reinforcing BPD’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
