UX and design at idfive are about making digital work feel clear, useful, and easy to move through. The best digital work often feels simple because someone else did the hard part. Good design clears the path. Smart UX helps people find what they need. And a strong visual system makes everything feel like it belongs.

That is what we are celebrating today. Please join us in congratulating Pat Balasavage on her promotion to UX Lead and Jacqueline “Jax” Stiefvater on her promotion to Senior Designer.

UX and Design at idfive Starts With People

Some people see a website with hundreds of pages, too many audiences, and a menu held together by hope. Pat sees a way forward. Over the past eight years, Pat has become one of idfive’s go-to people for making messy websites easier to use. She loves data, user behavior, and figuring out why people click what they click. As a result, she is exactly the person you want on a site that has gotten a little out of control. Pat has a gift for breaking down messy systems. Then, she rebuilds them into experiences that feel clear, useful, and human. She can look at a giant sitemap, a pile of analytics, and a room full of opinions, then find the structure hiding underneath it all. “She’s like the Marie Kondo of user experience,” said Kathe Flynn, Creative Director at idfive. “If a piece of the puzzle doesn’t spark joy or at least support a user goal, Pat is probably going to ask some thoughtful questions about why it’s there.”

Pat Balasavage Promoted to UX Lead

Pat’s real gift is not just structure. It is empathy. Because she is a former teacher, Pat knows how to bring people along in the process. She can present research, lead workshops, and walk a client through a recommendation without making it feel overwhelming. That matters because strong UX is not only about organizing information. It is also about helping people understand why those choices matter. Plus, if you ever need documentation, a UX best practice, or a passionate discussion about Outlander, Pat has you covered there, too. This promotion recognizes the expertise, curiosity, leadership, and care Pat brings to every project. Congratulations, Pat. We are grateful for your insight, your empathy, and your ability to turn digital chaos into something people can actually use.

Jacqueline “Jax” Stiefvater Promoted to Senior Designer

Jax came to idfive with a stacked agency résumé and the calm confidence of someone who knows her way around a 5,000-layer Figma file. Iced coffee in hand. Pinterest board on lock. Chocolate nearby, just in case. Then, she leveled up. In just two years, Jax has taken the reins on some of our biggest recent web builds, including Cliburn, Delta, and ESU. Each one was large, layered, and complex. However, Jax led the work with clarity, creativity, and a steady sense of calm. She handles big design systems like someone who was born to build them.

Of course, the Jax Essentials Collection does not stop there. She has also helped shape work for GW Media and Jhpiego. In addition, she jumps in to support teammates without being asked. She also has a real gift for turning unclear client feedback into clean, smart design.

While some people thrive on chaos, Jax takes a better route. She stays cool. She stays focused. Then, she figures it out.

Her ability to move between projects, teams, and creative challenges has made her a trusted partner across the agency. Whether the work is a website launch, a campaign asset, or a social post that needs to stop thumbs mid-scroll, Jax brings a sharp eye and a steady hand.

Congratulations, Pat and Jax!
